the short version: be at least 13, be yourself, be decent to people. your content stays yours. don't post anything you wouldn't want a real friend to see, because that's exactly who sees it.
these terms are an agreement between you and l8ly ("we," "us") covering the l8ly app and the l8ly.io website (together, "the service"). by creating an account or using the service, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. if you don't agree, don't use l8ly.
you sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. you're responsible for what happens on your account and for keeping access to your phone number secure. one account per person. tell us right away at hello@l8ly.io if you think your account has been compromised.
everything you post belongs to you. we claim no ownership of your photos, videos, or words. so the app can function, you give us a limited license to store, process, and display your content — solely to operate the service as described (for example: holding your week privately, then showing it to your accepted friends on your day). this license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for reports retained as moderation records.
your content is shown only to friends you've accepted. that also means you're trusting those friends — l8ly can't control what someone does with a screen they can see, so choose your friends like it's real life. because it is.
l8ly is a place for sharing your actual week with people you actually know. we have zero tolerance for objectionable content and zero tolerance for abusive users. using l8ly means agreeing to that — content or behavior that crosses these lines is removed and can end your account. you agree not to:
every piece of content and every profile can be reported from inside the app, and you can block anyone. we act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours — removing the content and ejecting the user who posted it where these terms were violated. we may remove content, suspend accounts, or permanently delete accounts with or without prior notice, depending on severity. if you believe we got a decision wrong, email hello@l8ly.io and a human will look at it.
invite links and codes are for inviting people you know. don't mass-post them or use them to spam. we may disable codes that are being abused.
l8ly is young and actively evolving. features may change, be added, or be removed as the product grows. we work hard to keep the service available and your archive safe, but we can't promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
you can stop using l8ly and delete your account — and all your data — at any time from settings. we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or put other users at risk. if your account is terminated for violations, you may not create a new one.
the service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. your use of the service is at your own risk.
to the fullest extent permitted by law, l8ly will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (l8ly is currently free, so: $50). some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
these terms are governed by the laws of the United States. any disputes will be resolved in the courts located where l8ly's operator is based, and you consent to that venue.
if we make meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top and notify you in the app before they take effect. continuing to use l8ly after that means you accept the updated terms.
